Jennifer Hudson Talks About Recovery From Birth

Posted: 20 Oct 2009 12:53 AM PDT

Jennifer Hudson had to have a caesarean section when she gave birth to her son, David, this past August.  While many women struggle to recover afterwards (it is a surgical procedure, after all!) Jennifer's experience wasn't too bad at all!

She explained: “Everybody told me how much it was going to hurt afterwards but I think I have a different tolerance for pain than others. By the night after I had the baby, I’m like, ‘Look, I can’t sit in this bed anymore. I’ve got to get up!’  I’ve been up and about since he was born. To me, the pain is no different than when you work out a muscle you’ve never worked out before and it’s sore.”

Well, as long as she made sure to take care of herself and not overdo it, I'm glad she had such a positive attitude about the recovery period.

She also talked a little about her little bundle of joy: “He has a lot of personality, like David. He’s always been a good sleeper. His favourite time to smile now is diaper changes. Or when he spits up on you – he just cracks up like he thinks it’s the funniest thing. And his bottle is his pacifier. His best friend is that bottle – that’s all he wants.”

I have to say that, from what I've heard, I absolutely adore this song!  She sounds so beautiful and I really like the vulnerability she shows when she's singing in the upper register.  I am really looking forward to hearing this whole alum.

Danny Noriega “Inside My Head”

Posted: 19 Oct 2009 10:41 PM PDT

Do you remember Danny Noriega from the seventh season of American Idol?  I really liked him when he was on the show.  I really liked his larger-than-life personality, his confidence and his voice (for the most part) but I guess he just didn't connect with the at-home audience enough to stick around longer.

A few months ago, his song "24/7" showed up on YouTube and I'm not going to lie – there are times when I still sing this song in my head.  I thought it was catchy but, obviously, it wasn't necessarily radio-ready.

Now he's back with "Inside My Head" and I think that it could be polished up in a studio and released.  Give it a listen and let me know what you think!
